Information material produced by the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO

The Swedish National Commission for UNESCO publishes and distributes information to the press and to the public at large.

Reports form the UNESCO General Conference and major Congresses are published in a series of booklets (initiated in 1979) – in English or Swedish – together with reports from seminars organised by the Commission, texts on conventions and recommendations etc. These booklets are sent to about 1 300 subscribers and can be ordered free of charge by schools etc.

The Commission has produced a Swedish, enlarged and updated version of the Teacher Manual for education about World Heritage (World Heritage in Young Hands).

The Commission has also published a poster with the texts (in Swedish translation) of UNESCO's Public Library Manifesto and the School Library Manifesto that are sent free of charge to schools, libraries etc. Two posters with basic information about UNESCO's mandate were the result of a competition organised for students at design and art schools.

During the General Conference in October 2005 the Swedish National Commission for UNESCO together with the German UNESCO Commission organised a side event on the UN Decade for Education for Sustainable Development, and published – in English - a book on the 15-year history of the educational project Baltic Sea Project; Baltic Sea Project 15 years – a Report on Best Practises for the UN Decade on Education for Sustainable Development.

The Commission participates with an information stand at fairs such as the Book and Library Fair in Gothenburg in September each year and the School Forum held in Stockholm in October.
